Gemstone Mala Beads for the 6th Chakra

Ajna, meaning “to perceive,” is also known as the third eye chakra or the eye of intuition.  Ajna chakra is symbolized by a two-petalled lotus, in a light grey, silvery-white moon-like color. Traditionally on the left petal, written in the Devanagari script, is Ham and on the right petal Ksham. Ham and Ksham are the bija or seed mantras for Shiva (consciousness) and Shakti (creativity). Although in this visual interpretation the mantras have been omitted and instead there is an image of the moon on the left petal representing the ida nadi. On the right petal is an image of the sun representing the pingala nadi.

Within the lotus is a circle symbolizing the void. Within that circle is an inverted triangle, which represents Shakti. Within the triangle is a black Shiva lingam representing Shiva. Over the Shiva lingam is the symbol of Aum.

Ajna is considered to be the point at which the two nadis (energy channels), Ida and Pingala, merge becoming the center that controls all higher mental activities including intellectual, emotional, and mental intelligence, and insight.

Thus the 6th Chakra is the center of our intuition and defines our connection to our inner guidance. Issues within the Ajna Chakra can arise in the form of the inability to make decisions. The Sixth Chakra’s The principal virtue is to harness the ability to manifest your vision, your light. This will allow you to “see” things with greater clarity.

When the Ajna chakra is balanced willpower is strong, intuition is clear, and there is easy access to the higher mind that results in perfect action in life. People with a balanced Ajna chakra dedicate their lives to the pursuit of truth. An out-of-balance Ajna chakra would use the mind to cheat, lie and manipulate others. A very busy and overly intellectual mind is also an indication of an out-of-balance Ajna chakra.
